When you belong, and participate in the Florida Council of periOperative Registered Nurse, you gain the advantage.
What advantage you ask----
How can you know, and keep up with everything that goes on in your state in the Perioperative Theater, unless you can network, communicate with others that work in the same field.
The Florida Council is the means to “keep up”…we offer the opportunity to communicate , educate, and just plain have fun with co-professionals. At our official meetings, three times a year, we always have a chance to network. At the Congress meeting we take care of voting for our Council Leaders; sharing the latest information in the state laws affecting us; sharing any information which affects the Florida AORN members; meet the National Candidates for Office; provide information for future meetings; and network and support our Industry colleagues.
At the Summer and Fall meetings, we have educational sessions (with contact hours for licensure and certification), networking for state information, legislation, industry exhibits, and always fun.
The higher the attendance, the more we all benefit since there are more ideas to share with everyone. The advantages are yours for the taking—join us.
Dues are paid by each chapter, each year, and each chapter has two votes at business meetings. All AORNMEMBERS IN THE STATE OF FLORIDA are members of the Florida Council—e-chapter members, and MAL members. We encourage you to join us at each gathering and reap the advantages for yourself.
MISSION STATEMENT
FCORN (Florida Council of periOperative Registered Nurses) is the state-wide
organization of perioperative registered nurses, in collaboration with AORN, dedicated to
enhancing professionalism and improving the performance of perioperative nurses so that we
may better serve the needs of society, and provide a forum of interaction and exchange among
other perioperative nurses, our nursing colleagues, other healthcare providers and our
industry representatives.
GOALS
The goals of our organization are to:
Establish communication between the State Council. Florida AORN Chapters and Members;
through discussions at meetings, exchange of chapter newsletters and other correspondence,
networking, and chapter visits.
Encourage open communication between officers and members through all level of
AORN regarding education needs, and chapter issues thereby enhancing the organization.
Monitor and disseminate information regarding national, state, and local legislative issues
that impact upon perioperative nursing issues and our everyday lives.
Coordinate and share information on educational offerings to avoid the repetition of topics
and the conflicts of dates.
Provide a forum for interaction between our members and our industry partners to
exchange ideas, as well as, introduce new products and technology, thereby insuring
and enhancing safe, quality care for our patients and a safe, efficient, and cost-effective
environment for all members of the perioperative team.
